Supporting local is in fashion

Peoria, Ill. (WEEK) — Bremer Jewelry has a passion for fashion and helping others.

Want to spice up your wardrobe and support your local charities?

That’s the reason Bremer Jewelry started Embracelets.

The jewler designs limited edition handmade bracelets for organizations to sell as their own, fashion-forward fundraisers during COVID-19.

Peoria Parks Foundation is using yellow and green stones.

“They represent love, self love, and healing, which are things nature provides,” said Jocelyn McDowell with the Peoria Parks Foundation.

Money raised is going to wards upkeep in the parks and on the trails.

“We’ve seen a huge increase during the usage of our trails. In the Spring, during the height of COVID-19, in Forest Park alone, there were over 2,000 cars at Forest Park every single day which is incredible,” said McDowell.

Easterseals is another organization working hard for continued support during the pandemic.

“This allows us to keep keep supporting our mission and what we do. And we had to pivot kind of quickly with the COVID-19 crisis with moving a lot of our events to virtual and kind of shifting the way we do services. The need is there now more than ever to support Easterseals,” said Molly Hogeboom with Easterseals.

The stones are bright orange and have a special charm.

“It’s really a tribute to the mom’s and caregivers who give 100% of themselves to ensure every child is included and empowered,” said Hogeboom.

All the organizations have a limited quantity of the embracelets.

If you want to look good while supporting local now is your chance.

Bremer Jewelry said the Peoria Symphony is working on their design now.

Embracelets are $40 a piece. Half goes to designated organization.
