Chief Bode George, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the southwest, has reacted to the recent visit of some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the region to the Presidential Villa.

Former governors of Ogun and Osun states, Chief Segun Osoba and Chief Bisi Akande, and other APC chieftains had on Friday, November 20, visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the villa.

He said the meeting was unnecessary and veiled in some poorly hidden agenda, claiming the absence of Tinubu in the meeting meant the visit to the villa was about the former Lagos state governor.

Adding that the meeting was to beg for “placatory softening of the ground for Tinubu”, the PDP chieftain urged President Buhari not to fall for those who would eclipse the main issue wrecking Lagos state in a needless scheming in partisan engagement.

The former deputy national chairman of the PDP said Tinubu needed to pay restitution for the egregious stripping of Lagos coffers.

In its version of the report, Nigerian Tribune stated that Gorge also claimed that the alleged politics of subjugation in Lagos contributed to the recent #EndSARS protest in the state, particularly the one at the Lekki tollgate.

George said the moment he discovers that APC zones the presidency to the southwest to pave way for Tinubu to contest, he would buy form and contest against the former governor of Lagos state.
